Howard and Bernadette are parents… once more!

On tonight'south all-new episode of The Big Bang Theory, the Wolowitzs welcomed their second kid to the long-running CBS comedy and, one time over again, surprised fans with an adorably sugariness out-of-this world proper noun.

"Obviously, nosotros've done a childbirth story before with Howard and Bernadette, so we're always looking for way to do things that are dissimilar and fresh than we've washed in the past," executive producer Steve Holland recently dished to ET over the phone.

Despite the fact that this evening'southward episode centered around the inflow of Howard and Bernadette's newest family unit member, there were plenty of scenes starring the entire group every bit they rallied around the couple's big moment.

"I dearest those scenes where information technology'south just the whole group sitting around talking and joking with each other, and so this seemed like a keen chance to do that earlier Howard and Bernadette become parents again, which would be trickier," Holland explained.

Howard and Bernadette spent the majority of the episode arguing well-nigh whether or non they should name their piddling boy Michael later Bernie's begetter, but the new parents of two ultimately settled on a compromise: Neil Michael Wolowitz.

"Early on, we idea it was squeamish for them to settle on Michael as a eye name," the showrunner recalled of the baby proper noun brainstorming session they had in the Large Bang Theory writers' room. "So we were sort of struggling to find a first name that nosotros liked."

Kingdom of the netherlands said that the writers eventually settled on Neil considering the proper noun "seemed to cheque off a lot of boxes" for the couple.

Over the past 2 seasons, fans have never seen Howard and Bernadette's baby girl, Hallie, and this is because she's an homage to Howard's tardily mother, Debbie, a beloved character who was always heard merely never seen.

And then volition little Neil ever announced on our screens, or is he going to follow in his big sister's MIA footsteps?

"I mean, information technology's possible to see the infant, only I'm not a fan of actually having babies on gear up," Holland answered. "It makes me feel terrible for them, so I'm not super excited to accept someone haul their newborn twins and shove them in front of a camera. But certainly the babies and having two babies will be a part of some upcoming episodes for Howard and Bernadette."

The episode as well revealed an additional sweet surprise: both Leonard and Sheldon take already been brainstorming their future hypothetical babies' names. (FYI. Leonard likes the proper noun Elliot and Sheldon shocked the group past announcing he plans to have fifteen kids. Yikes!)

With all this baby fever, we were curious to know if a third Large Bang Theory baby could exist joining the grouping soon, but information technology sounds like fans will have to wait a while before Leonard and Penny or Sheldon and Amy make up one's mind to take the leap into parenthood.
